Description
Piedro Reverse Last footwear models are corrective footwear and designed for feet with extreme varus and/or adduction. Their special last shape helps to correct this condition. Inside the shoe is a specially designed inlay which in combination with an extended medial stiffener forms a curved wall with the toecap to prevent the foot from progressing further into adduction. At the same time, abduction of the foot will be stimulated. This footwear shape and construction are especially important for children who are born with club feet and treatment using reverse lasted footwear can help their feet develop normally.
Recommendations / Indications for use:
- Congenital Talipes Equinovarus (CTEV): the medical term commonly used to describe clubfoot.
- Congenital foot deformity: A descriptive term indicating a foot anomaly present at birth.
- Talipes equinovarus: Another medical term used interchangeably with clubfoot, indicating the foot’s fixed inward and downward position.
- Metatarsus adductus: This is a condition where the front part of the foot turns inward, which can sometimes be mistaken for clubfoot but is distinct in its characteristics.
